Where does KYTH. come from?

KYTH derives from the Old English and Germanic verb cydan / kythan, meaning to reveal, to make visible, to make known. A brand that makes technology visible.

Old English: cydan

In Old English, cydan (also kythan) means 'to make known, to show, to reveal'. Related to the German word künden (to let someone know, to bring something to light).

cydan = to reveal

Germanic Root

The Proto-Germanic root *kunthijaną connects KYTH with a deep European language tradition. Related to 'kund' (known), 'Kunde' (message) and the English 'uncouth' (unknown).

*kunthijaną = to make known

Brand Meaning

The Dot

The glowing dot after KYTH is more than punctuation. It's a signal, a green light communicating activity, precision and readiness. Like a status indicator: online, active, ready.
