Printable Shopify gift cards

Shopify sends a gift card as an email with the code and a link to a gift card page styled by your theme; depending on the theme, that page can be printed. A folded card in your own design is not part of it. Kartuu creates its own gift card product for that, issues a real Shopify gift card for every paid amount voucher and puts its code on a card in your design, as a print-ready PDF.

Through the Kartuu block on the thank-you and order status pages, where they download the card. With email delivery set up and the recipient’s address entered by the buyer, the card also goes to the recipient by email: out of the box once you release it, and on a day the buyer picks if they like. Without the block you hand the card over yourself: every PDF is under Orders.

Yes. Every PDF is under Orders in Kartuu. You download it, print it at original size, fold it and put it in the parcel, in an envelope or on the counter. Printing and posting happen at your end; Kartuu supplies the PDF.

Yes, if you have set up email delivery through your own mailbox and the buyer enters the recipient’s address. The email carries a link to the card and the PDF as an attachment, with the folding instructions as a second attachment. The redemption code is only on the card, not in the text of the email. Out of the box you release every email by hand.

No. The redemption code is on the card, and the card can be shown on screen too; with email delivery it arrives as a PDF attachment. The card is made for folding, though: anyone who wants to give it rather than forward it prints it out.

For amount vouchers, yes: every card belongs to its own Shopify gift card with its own code, and Shopify keeps the balance. If the order is cancelled or refunded, Kartuu deactivates the gift card. Service vouchers are not gift cards; you redeem those yourself.

Yes. You start from one of six templates or design freely: move, rotate and resize elements, swap images, add text, shapes, images, your logo and shop name, and set text in one of eight handwriting typefaces. Amount or service, gift card code, recipient, sender, message, shop name and expiry date are placeholders that Kartuu fills in.

No. Without email delivery the buyer gets the card on the thank-you page. If it should reach the recipient by email, you enter the SMTP details of your own mailbox so the email comes from your shop. Out of the box you release every email by hand.

Two plans with the same features: Kartuu Free with no monthly fee and 2.9% of the value of each gift card issued instead, or Kartuu Standard at US$19 per month or US$199 per year with no revenue share, the first 30 days free.
