Customs and international shipping in Shopify with Karl
Shipments outside the EU without the paperwork: Karl checks the customs data before the label, asks for missing HS codes straight away and creates the customs documents for DDP, DAP and DDU. International shipping is part of Karl Enterprise. The interface is in German. Available in the Shopify App Store, 14-day free trial.
How customs works with Karl
Customs data checked before the label
For shipments to non-EU countries, Karl checks before every label that each line item carries an HS code. If one is missing, a dialogue opens straight away: enter the HS code per item, with suggestions for the destination country, then create the label. The order list flags orders with missing customs data.
Customs documents for DDP, DAP and DDU
Karl creates the customs documents automatically, with ETD and Paperless Trade. Goods values are declared in the actual order currency, and tip line items are kept out of the customs value and the commercial invoice.
Large and split orders
Split an order into several shipments, each with its own label, customs document and tracking. With DHL Express, FedEx and UPS, several boxes travel as one multi-piece shipment at the consolidated rate.
Bill transport and duties separately
With split billing you charge transport to one carrier account and duties and taxes to another, per shipment. That keeps B2B shipments clean when your customer ships on their own FedEx or UPS account.
